Traci (TJ) Johnson has a diverse background in Government, Information Technology, Hospitality, Telecommunication, International Affairs and Law Enforcement. But early in her life TJ Johnson dedicated her life to Public and Community Service. In 2008, Traci (TJ) Johnson was Elected Committee Woman of Ward 75 in Hilliard, Ohio. In the community she plays a pivotal role in organizing neighborhood associations and promoting public safety in her community. Her passion for people and volunteerism has become a life’s mission. Agencies that assist the Blind, Homeless, Seniors, Recovering Alcoholics and Children encompass her 20 years of volunteerism.

Most recently Traci (TJ) Johnson is a member of the American Red Cross, Disaster Action Team and Lutheran Social Services-Faith Mission, as a Food Server Volunteer. American Red Cross, Disaster Action Team, better known as DAT, is comprised of men and women who are dedicated to help those in need at any place, at any time. The Disaster Action Team is called to house fires. Many people don’t realize that when the local fire department responds to a house fire, the American Red Cross of Greater Columbus also responds to the call.

The Disaster Action Team volunteers are on call 24-hours a day, seven days a week, often leaving behind family and friends to help meet the emergency needs of those affected during the fire, providing shelter, food, clothing and medications.  Lutheran Social Services, Food Server Volunteers assist in the preparation, serving and clean-up of meals for the residents of Faith Mission. Faith Mission has served the homeless community by offering a secure, Christian-based environment for homeless men and women on an emergency walk-in basis. The agency provides shelter, food and clothing, while helping individuals with access to longer term solutions such as housing, employment assistance, medical, dental and vision care, counseling and support groups.

Traci is a Toledo native, graduated from Ohio University with a BA in Political Science/Pre-Law. A long-time Hilliard resident Traci works to be constantly aware of national, statewide, local economic, social, and political issues that impact her community and Ohio. Recently, she founded, Progress Hilliard a grassroots organization that focuses on political awareness, community service and involvement; and she served as Northwest Regional Lead for We Are Ohio, the campaign against Senate Bill 5.
