Franklin County Sheriff

Sheriff Zach Scott has over 26 years of service with the Franklin County Sheriff's Office. He is a graduate of Franklin University where he majored in Organization Leadership and Business Administration. During his tenure with the Sheriff's Office before becoming Sheriff, he worked the uniform division; Jail and Patrol, Undercover Division; narcotic and vice, SWAT, Detective Bureau; Property Crimes, Homicide and Community Relations/DARE. As an undercover narcotics detective, Sheriff Scott was the lead detective on the Sheriff's Office largest international, non-task force, drug seizure. As a homicide detective, he was fortunate enough to be the lead detective on such investigations as the I-270 Serial Shooter, the Conway gang murders, (James Conway was the first person in Franklin County History to be sentenced to the death penalty twice) and the Caulley murders. Several of Zach's homicide investigations have been featured on Court T.V., A&E, and the Discovery Channel. Sheriff Scott is the recipient of numerous awards ranging from Buckeye State Sheriff's Deputy of the Year, Crime Stoppers Officer of the year, medals of Valor, Honor, Distinguish Service, Purple Heart, Commendations, and Merits. Sheriff Scott's vast work experience and commitment to leadership both on the street, in the class room, in the court room, and in the Office of Sheriff has prepared him to handle the numerous challenges that confront today's leaders in law-enforcement.
